SprayNotes guide
Adding a treatment or entry
Add spraying, fertilizing, fertigation, a harvest, a note or another activity.
The add button on the main screen is not just for spraying. You can use it to add a treatment with a product, fertilizing, fertigation, a harvest, a note and other work.
Types of entry
The basic options are Spraying, Fertilizing, Fertigation, Note and Harvest. Once you turn on other activities, you also see: Pruning, Mowing, Weeding, Watering, Sowing, Planting, Harrowing, Cultivating, Disking, Mulching, Rolling, Plowing, Aeration, Subsoiling, Scarification and Custom activity.
Spraying, fertilizing and fertigation
These entries record work done with a product: a plant protection product, a fertilizer, an adjuvant or another product. For fertilizing, you then choose the application method: Granular spreading or Soil drench.
- 1
Choose the type of treatment
On the main screen, tap the add button and choose Spraying, Fertilizing or Fertigation. For fertilizing, you can choose Granular spreading or Soil drench in a later step.
- 2
Choose the field and crops
In the first step, choose the crop. The field, plot or block is optional, but worth adding: it keeps your records organised and suggests the area for the dosage.
- 3
Check the treated area
Below the field selection is the Treated area. When you pick fields, the app adds up their area and fills it in here, but you can change it yourself, for example when you only spray part of the area. After a change, a Restore the fields’ area link appears to bring back the suggestion. You can also enter the area when you do not pick a field at all.
- 4
Add the BBCH stage if you use it
If you have the plant growth stage turned on, choose the principal and secondary BBCH stage. If you do not see this field, go to More, choose Preferences, open Feature visibility and turn on BBCH stage.
- 5
Give the reason for the treatment
In the second step, you can choose the reason for the treatment, for example a disease, a pest, weeds or a group of threats. It is useful, but you do not have to fill it in every time.
- 6
Add products and dosage
Add at least one product from your collection and enter its amount. For spraying, fertigation and soil drench, enter the water amount as well. For granular spreading, the water amount is not needed.
- 7
Use the calculator
If you like, use the dosage calculator. It can work out the amount of product and water by area or by the amount of spray you want to mix.
- 8
Add the details and save
In the third step, choose the status, date and time. You can add a reminder, the worker, weather, duration, notes and photos of the crops. Finally, tap Create treatment.
More activities
The More section is for recording work that does not need a product or a dose. You can add Pruning, Mowing, Weeding, Watering, Sowing, Planting, Harrowing, Cultivating, Disking, Mulching, Rolling, Plowing, Aeration, Subsoiling, Scarification and Custom activity. If you do not see these options, turn them on in Feature visibility.
- 1
Choose the activity
On the Add screen, choose one of the activities. For a Custom activity, enter its name, for example Laying fleece or Repairing supports.
- 2
Choose the field and crop
The field is optional. A crop is required for some work, such as pruning, sowing, planting, harrowing, rolling, plowing, aeration, subsoiling and scarification. For mowing, weeding, watering and a custom activity it can be optional.
- 3
Add varieties if needed
You can choose varieties for sowing and planting. The other activities do not use varieties.
- 4
Fill in the date, status and notes
Enter the date and time, choose Planned or Completed, and add notes if you want to record details of the work.
Harvest
A harvest records how much you picked. The crop and the harvest date are required. The field, amount, unit, quality, photo, storage location and notes you fill in as needed.
Note
A note is the simplest entry. The note content and the date are required. Use it to record an observation, a reminder, damage, conditions in the field or anything else without creating a full treatment.
Planned or completed
Choose Planned when you are only intending to carry out the treatment or work. Choose Completed once the work in the field, orchard or garden is done. You can edit a planned entry later and mark it as completed.
