Adding a field
Add a plot, orchard block, polytunnel or any other growing area.
In the app, a field is any place where you grow a crop or carry out treatments. It can be an arable field, a plot, an orchard block, a berry plantation, a polytunnel, a greenhouse, a garden or any other part of your farm.
What is required
Only the Field name is required. Everything else, such as the photo, location, area, crops and varieties, you can add straight away or fill in later.
- 1
Open the Fields tab
Choose Fields on the bottom bar, then tap the Add button in the top right corner.
- 2
Enter the field name
Choose a name that is clear to you, for example Apple orchard, Gala block, North field, Tomato tunnel or Blueberries by the wood.
- 3
Add a photo if you like
The field photo is optional. It makes the field easier to spot in the list, especially when you have many plots, blocks or similar names.
- 4
Pick the location on the map
Tap Pick on the map. Search for an address or tap the map to mark where the field is, then choose Confirm location.
- 5
Or draw your own shape
In the map window, switch to Draw a shape. Tap the map to add points around the field. You need at least three points. When you are done, choose Confirm shape.
- 6
Fill in the area
Enter the area and choose a unit, for example ha.
- 7
Assign crops and varieties
Choose the crops grown on this field, for example apple, strawberry, potato or wheat. The crops have to be in your collection first. Once you have chosen them, you can pick varieties, where the database has them.
- 8
Save the field
Check the details and tap Create new field. The field appears on the Fields tab and is available when you add treatments, harvests, sales and other entries.
Farms in Poland: cadastral parcels
For fields in Poland, the map can also look up cadastral parcels. Search for a parcel number or tap a parcel, then choose Use this parcel, and the app can fill in the parcel number and area for you. To enter the number yourself, turn on Cadastral parcel number in Preferences, under Feature visibility.
The field list and map
On the Fields tab you can switch between the List and Map views. The list shows your fields as tiles with a photo, name and area. The map shows the fields that have a saved location or outline.
Inside a field
When you open a field, you see its details: the photo, location map, area, parcel number if it has one, the assigned crops and varieties, and the latest treatments carried out on it.
